- Pierre Catala (3 February 2012): French law professor who after pioneering work on automated legal information services was notably the co-rapporteur of the very influential 1975 Tricot report.
- Ruth M. Davis (28 March 2012): US computer scientist and civil servant who held important management positions in the 1970s. Her pioneering work on medical technology developed in parallel with a concern with privacy and data encryption.
